How can one gaze at a sunset and not be affected deep within one’s soul?
Ancient civilizations worshipped the sun because of the life-sustaining nourishment it gave to every aspect of the planet. Yes, it’s true that life does exist on the deepest ocean floor where no sunlight can penetrate. But without the sun warming the waters closer to the surface, our oceans would be so frigid as to not support life.
Sunsets and sunrises bring sustenance to us at the level of our Soul. Rejoice when you see sunlight streaming through a dark woodland. Give thanks for the sunlight that warms your body on a cool fall morning.
Today, appreciate the sun for all the goodness it brings to your life. Today, live your life like a sunset. . .Spiritually!
