I suppose poinsettias will always remind me of diplomacy from now on. I used to work for a small law firm and every year prior to Christmas the attorneys and secretaries would visit the courthouse offices and drop off gifts of potted poinsettias. It was the attorneys’ way of tactfully expressing their thanks to the courthouse clerks for all their help throughout the year. (Perhaps it was also a sensitive way to curry favor from the judges.)
Are you sensitive and tactful in your relationships with others? If not, maybe you could at least try to be so and see how sensitivity and tactfulness really do make a good difference in people’s lives.
